Extra early childhood support for Riverstone families

February 12, 2026

Aboriginal children and children from low income families in the Riverstone electorate will now get an additional 600 hours’ of early childhood education support thanks to a new preschool grant.

Up to $10,000 in funding is being received by providers:

  • Norwest Christian College, Riverstone;
  • Kids Early Learning Blacktown City, Riverstone;
  • Kids’ Early Learning Blacktown City, Quakers Hill North;
  • Kids’ Early Learning Blacktown City, Quakers Hill preschool;
  • Kids’ Early Learning Blacktown City, Quakers Hill;
  • Catholic Early Learning Centre St John XXIII Parish, Glenwood-Stanhope Gardens.

Riverstone MP Kevin Conolly said these grants are aimed at improving early childhood education participation rates in targeted areas.

This can include access to specialised staff, transport support for families to access the preschools, breakfast programs and working with local Aboriginal community members to conduct Aboriginal art programs and dreamtime storytelling sessions.

“COVID-19 has really challenged our community over the past two years. Early learning services play a critical role in supporting children and their families,” Mr Conolly said.

Minister for Education and Early Learning Sarah Mitchell said these grants will enable services in the Riverstone electorate to provide educational activities that will strengthen the foundations of children’s learning in the crucial years before school for these families.
