The Hills Shire Library Service is excited to present a captivating evening with acclaimed author Sophie Green at the Pioneer Theatre on Wednesday 20 September.

Join Sophie as she delves into the heartwarming world of her latest masterpiece, Weekends with the Sunshine Gardening Society. 

The novel follows a group of four women who join a gardening society that renews gardens for those in need. The women, who come from all walks of life, soon discover the group is more than talking about plants. It’s a place to find identity and community. 

Sophie is a successful writer, with many of her novels, including The Shelly Bay Ladies Swimming Circle, Thursdays at Orange Blossom House, and The Bellbird River Country Choir, reaching the top ten bestseller list. 

Sophie hopes her books provide meaningful entertainment. 

“We all have a lot of things pulling on our time, and entertainment is important to give us some relief and joy,” Sophie said. 

“If someone also finds meaning in the stories, that’s wonderful. 

“I hope to offer readers something that can be read either way – light if they want light, with some substance if they prefer that.”
